"Boys of Baraka"

"Boys of Baraka" follows a group of boys from Baltimore to a special academy in Kenya called the Baraka School. The idea is to rescue kids from inner city gangs and drugs and give them the tools to succeed in high school.

Forty middle school students are plucked each year from inner-city Baltimore and enrolled in the boarding school, built on a 150-acre ranch in Kenya. Filmmakers Heidi Ewing and Rachel Grady directed the award-winning documentary.
