Harlequin Frogs Becoming Extinct
Story aired: Monday, January 16, 2006

A new study in the journal Nature claims that frogs are disappearing at an alarming rate, and global warming is to blame.

Researchers say the deadly fungus that has wiped out some frog populations in Central and South america, and is driving many other species to extinction, is caused by the greenhouse effect -- emissions from cars, and smokestacks.

To learn more, we speak with Andy Dobson, a Professor of Evolutionary Biology at Princeton Universit, who wrote an editorial accompanying the study in Nature.
