Evangelicals and Global Warming
Story aired: Monday, February 13, 2006

A group of 86 evangelical leaders -- including the presidents of 39 colleges, pastors of mega-churches and prominent authors -- have released a statement urging President Bush not only to take note of climate change, but also to take action.

The initiative pits the religious leaders against the Bush administration and against other evangelicals, who continue to back the administration's position that there is no global warming.

Guests:

Reverend Doctor Daniel Mercaldo, senior pastor at Gateway Cathedral in Staten Island, who signed the evangelical petition.
