Cheney's Hunting Partner "Stable"
Story aired: Monday, February 13, 2006

Vice President Dick Cheney's 78-year-old hunting partner is in stable condition today after Cheney accidentally shot him during a hunting mishap this weekend. Harry Whittington was hunting quail with Cheney and another man at the Armstrong ranch near Corpus Christi, Texas.

Whittington was apparently hit by birdshot when he unexpectedly approached Cheney from behind while the vice president was shooting at a covey of birds.
