The Death of Kevin Carter Story aired: Wednesday, March 01, 2006
Dan Krauss' graduate school thesis in which he documented the short life of photojournalist Kevin Carter, has garnered him an Oscar nomination for best documentary short.
The documentary also brings wider attention to Carter, who while in South Africa captured arguably the greatest image of famine ever taken. However the toll of being a witness to such suffering eventually led Carter to take his own life.
Dan Krauss joins us from California to talk about his film, "The Death of Kevin Carter -- Casualty of the Bang Bang Club."
