Behind Closed Doors
Story aired: Friday, March 24, 2006

Today, with an eye towards this year's congressional midterm elections, President Bush hits the campaign trail for his party and publicly appeared with a freshman congressman from Indiana.

Bush also met behind closed doors with Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum, one of the most electorally vulnerable republicans in Congress. The President will attend a private fundraising dinner tonight for Santorum -- no pictures allowed.

Why isn't Senator Santorum eager to be seen in a standard campaign photo with the President?

In the coming weeks we'll take a look at some of the most contested congressional races.

Guests:

Boston University history professor, Julian Zelizer

National political analyst for the Philadelphia Inquirer, Dick Polman
