Who Reads Poetry?
Story aired: Wednesday, April 12, 2006

The poetry foundation has set out to discover what motivates people in the 21st century to read poetry.

There findings are varied. African-American readers were found more likely to read poetry than white readers. Also, while lots of people buy poetry books as gifts, many don't read the books themselves.

John Barr, president of the poetry foundation joins us from Chicago to discuss the survey.
