Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice (AP FILE)
Commencement Flap
Story aired: Friday, May 12, 2006

The debate over the Iraq war is in high gear all around the country, but it's become particularly pointed at Boston College because of its choice of a commencement speaker this year. Hundreds of faculty and students are protesting the school's decision to award an honorary law degree to Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice when she delivers the commencement address later this month. The protestors say Rice's support of the Iraq war is in direct conflict with the mission of a Catholic school like Boston College.
