Bay State Flooding Story aired: Monday, May 15, 2006
For the past few days, most of New England has been soaked by unrelenting rain -- it has been described as the worst drenching the region has seen in 70 years.
Forecasters expect it's only going to get worse.
States of emergency have been declared in parts of Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts with many roads -- particularly north of Boston -- now looking more like rivers . In New Hampshire alone, almost 600 roads are closed including some major thoroughfares.
School has been cancelled in dozens of communities and hundreds of people have been evacuated while emergency workers continue to monitor swollen waterways.
