Guantanamo Bay Detainees
Story aired: Tuesday, July 11, 2006

The Bush administration appears to have reversed its position on the treatment of prisoners held in Cuba and suspected of ties to terrorist groups. Prisoners held at Guantanamo Bay, previously considered "enemy combatants" will now be granted all the protection of the Geneva Conventions.

Congress also opened their hearings on military tribunals this morning. Pentagon and intelligence correspondent for the Financial Times, Demetri Sevastopulo, joins us live from the hearings in Washington.

Guests:

Demetri Sevastopulo, Pentagon and intelligence correspondent for the Financial Times

John Hutson, dean of the Franklin Pierce Law Center in Concord, New Hampshire

Attorney David Rivkin, who served in the Justice Department under Presidents Reagan and George H. W. Bush
