From a red paper clip to 503 Main Street Kipling, SK, Canada (Used by Permission)
A Promising Paper Clip
Story aired: Tuesday, July 11, 2006

"One man's trash is another man's treasure" says Kyle MacDonald on his blog and now he has proof. One year ago tomorrow, Kyle MacDonald started with one red paper clip determined to trade his way to a house. On July 8 the Canadian town of Kipling, Saskatchewan made Kyle's story the perfect anecdote of this idiom by giving him the keys to an 1100 square foot, three bedroom, two floor home in exchange for a role in Corbin Bernsen's next film, Donna on Demand.

But, what can a town do with a part in a movie? Kyle MacDonald joins us to answer this question and discuss the fourteen trades that got him his new home.

Guests:

Kyle MacDonald, blogger, trader and aspiring writer
