Interstate 90 Connector Eastbound, July 11 (AP)
Death at Boston' Big Dig
Story aired: Tuesday, July 11, 2006

Late last night a 3-ton concrete panel plummeted from the ceiling of one of the many troubled tunnels in Boston's Big Dig project, flattening a car and killing its passenger, Boston resident, Melina M. Delvalle.

The nation's largest federally funded construction venture, known as the Big Dig, has been in progress for fifteen years and is constantly under fire for construction problems, delays, and cost overruns.

Reporter Sean Murphy, the Boston Globe
