Hurricane Katrina: Digging Through Debris

Shannon Lee Dawdy, an archeologist at the University of Chicago, has focused on New Orleans since 1995 and was working there just before Katrina hit.

In the wake of the hurricane, Dawdy, who wrote about New Orleans in the July/August issue of Archeology magazine, acted as liaison between FEMA and the Louisiana division of archaeology.
