Chef Gordon Ramsay from Fox's "Hell's Kitchen 2"
Crazy Cooks
Story aired: Wednesday, September 27, 2006

The image of the chef who's wildly emotional about his work has long been a main course on the menu of many film scripts. Take Anthony Shalhoub, the perfectionist chef Primo in the 1996 movie "Big Night." Primo reacts in horror when his brother, played by Stanley Tucci, tells him to make pasta for a customer who's already ordered risotto.

And the heat only gets turned up on reality TV. On Foxes "Hell's Kitchen 2" badly behaved chef Gordon Ramsay berates his charges as they compete for a job, cursing, throwing meals at them and spitting their creations on the floor.

But are chef's really that out of control? Do they perhaps need a shrink? Joining us with his own unique perspective is food fanatic and psychologist Scott Haas.
