Foley Fallout Story aired: Monday, October 02, 2006
Days after he resigned his congressional seat, Florida Republican Mark Foley has checked himself into an alcohol rehabilitation clinic, as the FBI begins to investigate sexually explicit e-mails and instant messages and text messages he sent to high school pages.
The scandal is raising questions about how much republican congressional leaders knew about the correspondences and whether they did enough to protect teenage pages from unwanted advances.
All this comes just weeks before the mid-term elections which could shift the balance of power in Congress.
