Foley Scandal Taking Toil on GOP Story aired: Wednesday, October 04, 2006
Despite his public vow not to resign House Speaker Dennis Hastert has told the Wall Street Journal that he would be willing to resign over the widening congressional page scandal if it would help the battered Republican party in elections next month.
Hastert is no doubt taking into consideration the ABC News reports that former Rep. Mark Foley had what is being described as Internet sex with at least one former page at the time Foley was voting on a bill from the House floor.
A new poll by the Wall Street Journal points to real trouble for the Republican party on November 7th.
Guests:
The Wall Street Journal's John Harwood
George Washington University professor Jonathan Turley, who was a page in the House of Representatives in the 70s.
