A Bad Sign?
Story aired: Monday, November 13, 2006

In August, police arrested John Decker after he removed a roadside sign advertising a hot tub. He didn't stop there, and tomorrow Decker will fight theft allegations in court.

It all began when he saw a hot tub sign, which he assumed was posted by a neighbor. Then he noticed another one in his backyard. After the 100th sign he felt duped.

The signs weren't from neighbors, but advertisements for companies such as match.com and Got Junk.

Decker, fueled with the philosophy that "one man's property is another man's litter," collected these posters cluttering his beautiful vacation state.

Tomorrow before a judge Decker will argue that policemen are ignoring state law that prohibits putting signs down on state roads.

Tonight, Decker will partake in the "sign bandit sings" event where he will belt his theme song, "Gimme a Little Sign."
