Story aired: Monday, November 13, 2006

Carol Shea-Porter launched a successful $200,000 grass-roots campaign to defeat her well-funded opponent, Jeb Bradley.

She's credited with having one of the most effective campaign commericals: a no-frills ad featuring her seated next to her mother.

Shea-Porter joins us today from Congress to discuss her campaign's embrace of New Hampshire's untapped voters.

Now she plans to face the country's "plate of troubles" with a warm, friendly tone.

She calls for a withdrawal from Iraq within six months,
changes in healthcare, and reforms in the deficit she describes as a "train-wreck waiting to happen."

She hopes the 1st District voters who sent her to Washington will hear their own voices from the nation's capitol.
