Hill Eyes Ending Breaks For Big Oil Story aired: Thursday, January 18, 2007
A Senate Energy Committee hearing today was investigating an apparent bureaucratic blunder dating back to the Clinton administration allowed big oil companies to avoid royalty payments for drilling for oil and gas in federal waters. Also today, the House is expected to pass an energy bill that would raise about $14 billion by repealing tax breaks to oil companies and closing that loophole on royalty payments.
