Turtle Man
Story aired: Friday, February 16, 2007

In the world of wildlife, as in the world of fashion, the runway is dominated by the glamorous. Lions and tigers and bears, gorillas and whales and elephants get most of the attention.

And so do the naturalists who study them.

But away from these models of mega-fauna. And much more down to earth are the turtles. And their biggest and hardest working fan has suddenly become a big star. Here and Now's David Boeri has our story which begins on a frozen day in a wetland in New Hampshire.
