When Parents Go To War
Story aired: Tuesday, March 13, 2007

What happens to the children of parents who are called to active duty in Iraq or Afghanistan? We talk with Courtney Potts, a 17-year-old 11th grader who lives on a military base in Fort Hood, Texas and whose dad has been deployed overseas several times since 9/11. We also hear from Dr. Angela Huebner an associate professor in the Department of Human Development at Virginia Tech who has conducted the first of its kind study of how teenagers cope when their parents are fighting overseas.
