Court Says EPA Can Regulate Car Emissions

The Supreme Court has stepped into the global warming debate. The court is forcing the Bush administration to take another look at regulating greenhouse gases.

The Environmental Protection Agency had argued that it didn't have the authority to regulate carbon emissions from new cars and trucks. In addition, the agency said there wasn't enough scientific evidence connecting carbon emissions to global warming.

The court ruled today that the EPA does have that authority and that it must re-examine the science.
