Tribal Fires
Story aired: Monday, April 02, 2007

"Keeping the Fire in Dark Moon Times" is a performance of stories, music and dance by Native Americans that serves as a bridge between native cultures. The performance is currently touring the country. We talk with two of the troupe's members Hi'lani Shibata, a Hawian native and Stephen Blanchett, an Yup'ik Inuit from Alaska, about how they are trying to keep tribal fires alive in an era of casinos.

Guests:

Hi'lani Shibata

Stephen Blanchett
