CBS Axes Imus Story aired: Friday, April 13, 2007
Don Imus is off the air.
CBS Radio fired Imus yesterday, a after MSNBC pulled the simulcast of the radio show from its schedule.
The Rutgers women's basketball team met with Imus last evening to hear his apology in person for his racist and misogynistic on-air remarks.
Meanwhile Imus' wife, Deidre, took his place on the air today to wrap up a fundraiser for research into Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. She told listeners that the Rutger players told her last night they were getting hate mail.
Our panel parses what the Imus affair tells about the media landscape, the state of race relations and offensive language and political correctness.
