Boris Yeltsin Remembered
Story aired: Wednesday, April 25, 2007

Russia said farewell today to former President Boris Yeltsin.

Mikhail Gorbachev, the last Soviet leader, joined current Russian President Vladimir Putin and former American Presidents Bill Clinton and George Bush for the funeral service at the Cathedral of Christ the Savoir.

Yeltsin was laid to rest in a local cemetery above a bend in the Moscow river where artists such as Anton Chekhov and Sergei Prokofiev are buried.

To remember Boris Yeltsin we are joined by journalist Evgeny Kiselev who hosts a weekly current affairs program on the leading radio station in Moscow.
