Tabla Master Suphala
Story aired: Tuesday, July 24, 2007

Classical Indian music was once only heard in the royal courts. Tabla player Suphala fuses that tradition with trance music rhythms and hip hop beats to create a new sound. We talk with Suphala, one of few women to master the tabla, and the first woman to perform in post-Taliban Afghanistan.
