The Right to Dry
Story aired: Thursday, September 20, 2007

Across the nation, many neighborhood associations have enacted restrictions against backyard clotheslines . The Bend, Oregon neighborhood of Awbrey Butte has such a rule, but it's being challenged by resident Susan Taylor. She calls the rule outdated given the concerns of global climate change, and she says hanging clothes out for the sun to dry is a small, but important step to take to save energy and the planet.
