"The Strange Case of Hellish Nell"
Hellish Nell
Story aired: Tuesday, October 30, 2007

Just in time for Halloween, we revisit the story of Helen Duncan, or "Hellish Nell," as she was known. Duncan was a medium who was tried and convicted as a witch during World War II. She was targeted by British intelligence because her s?ces revealed British troop movements that the government wanted to keep quiet.

Nina Shandler, author of the book "The Strange Case of Hellish Nell: The Story of Helen Duncan and the Witch Trial of World War II" tells us Helen's story.
