Requiem For Anne Sexton Story aired: Thursday, November 08, 2007
This weekend, "Requiem for Our Time," a work by composer Roger Ames, incorporating the poems of Anne Sexton, will be performed by Chorus Pro Musica in Boston. Anne Sexton's poems form the late 1960s, laid bare her struggles with addiction and suburban motherhood.
We reflect on the music that's been inspired by the Pulitzer Prize-winning poet, with her daughter Linda Gray Sexton and Robert Clawson who managed the Sexton's experimental band "Anne Sexton and Her Kind."
