U.S. Supreme Court (AP)
Guns on Campus
Story aired: Monday, March 17, 2008

As the U.S. Supreme Court gets set to release its decision on whether gun rights are protected by the Second Amendment of the Constitution, we look at the arguments for and against proposals to allow guns on college campuses.

Several states are considering laws to allow students to carry concealed weapons. Utah is the only state where it's already allowed.

We speak with Brent Tenney, a senior at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City who carries a gun on campus and Joe Kendall, a managing editor for The Collegiate Times, the student run paper at Virginia Tech University. We also hear from James Hardina, the police commander at Arizona State University.
