Iceland Food Fest
Story aired: Wednesday, April 02, 2008

The North Atlantic island nation of Iceland is famous for its dramatic landscape, natural geysers and warm spring lagoons. It also has some of the world's most peculiar culinary dishes, many of them stinky and some of them downright rotten. Here & Now's resident chef, Kathy Gunst, sampled some of the dishes, including pickled ram testicles, liver pudding and the infamous "rotten shark" (above) and she tells us how the experience expanded her palette.
